In recent months, there has been increasing talk in the market about
the Malaysian Goods and Services Tax (GST) since our Prime Minister
Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced the introduction on GST on 25th
October 2013. Presenting Budget 2014, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib
Razak announced the introduction of GST at 6% which effective from
1st April 2015 to replace our existing Sales tax 6% and
Service Tax 10% (SST).
Since GST is a new form of tax in Malaysia, I believe there are many
people still confusing on Malaysian GST such as what is GST, what is
the impact on the businesses and individual, what is the legal
procedures for the implementation & etc and these make them worry
on the implementation of GST on next year 2015, April. Therefore, I
am writing this blog to help people who want to find out and know
more about the Malaysian GST.
